Before you book, it helps to know exactly what will be asked of you at pickup and what falls on you during the rental. This guide sets out the conditions as we actually apply them.
The short answer
- Age: 25 and over.
- A valid driving licence, held for at least two to three years.
- A passport is required — the national ID card is not accepted.
- Use inside Algeria only, for your own purposes and not for paid transport.
- In an accident: declare it to the agency within 24 hours, with the police report.
The age requirement
The minimum age is 25. This follows from insurance conditions and risk assessment, and is applied by most serious rental agencies in Algeria. There is no exception to it, even for a renter holding a long-standing licence.
The documents required
Two documents, no more: • Your passport. • Your driving licence, valid and held for at least two to three years. At pickup we keep the passport as security for the duration of the rental, and it is returned to you as soon as the car comes back.
Why a passport and not the national ID card
The national ID card is not accepted, and we accept no substitute for the passport. The reason is practical: a passport is harder to obtain and to replace, which makes it a real guarantee protecting the vehicle. An ID card can be replaced easily and therefore does not serve that purpose. Please make sure you have a valid passport before booking, so there is no surprise at pickup.
Your obligations during the rental
• Use within Algerian territory only. • The car is for you and any declared additional driver — it must not be handed to anyone else. • Subletting the car, or using it to carry people or goods for payment, is forbidden. • All traffic violations recorded during the rental are the renter's responsibility. • The car is returned clean and at the same fuel level at which you received it.
In the event of an accident
If an accident occurs, however minor, it must be declared to the agency within 24 hours at the latest, together with the police or gendarmerie report. This is not a formality: insurance does not apply without an official report, and a late declaration can void cover and shift the consequences onto the renter. In all cases: call us immediately on the number below before taking any other step.
In the event of theft
You must notify the security services immediately and obtain the theft report, then inform the agency as soon as possible, handing over the car's keys and documents. Dealings with the insurance company go through the agency — we handle the file.

Is the national ID card enough instead of a passport?
No. A passport is required and the national ID card is not accepted as a replacement.
Can someone else drive the car?
Yes, provided they are declared at booking as an additional driver (1,500 DA per day) and meet the same conditions: 25 or over, with a valid licence.
My licence is only one year old — can I rent?
